About Me

Who Is Eddy Taylor?

Hi, if you’re reading this then you’re hopefully interested in some of my work but want to know a little about the man behind the words.

The youngest son of two art teachers, it was no surprise to anyone when I decided to pursue a creative career, having attempted to write my own version of game of thrones in my teens, and regularly telling my parents made up stories at bedtime as a child. Always the dramatic one in the family, I initially pursued a career as an actor and had the pleasure of attending two of the UK’s most prestigious Drama Schools, The Academy Of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA)  and The Bristol Old Vic respectively. While I loved my time at drama school and was a regular at my Universities Shakespeare and Improv Societies I always found that no matter what I was reading or performing I always had a nagging voice in the back of my mind that would say ‘this is good but how would you do it?’ And so rather than ignoring this voice I’ve chosen to embrace it and it has been the origin of so much of my personal joy. They say you should make your hobby your job and I can confidently say I take writing a bit too seriously to let it remain a hobby especially now that I have graduated university.

As you can see from my portfolio I have experience in writing for the stage, screen, radio and often dabble into pros. As a queer man I like to centre my narratives around LGBTQ+ issues and the male experience, drawing inspiration from my own life and my favourite fictional stories and franchises, a lot of my work often begins as an idea for an episode of Doctor Who a program that has defined much of my upbringing and personality.

If any of my work has interested you please reach out to me, please send me an email using the form below. Having worked as a Secretary for the Royal Holloway Shakespeare Society I know the importance of punctuality and try to respond to all emails within 24hours.
